136Stability and adaptability seem to be opposites. How can something be strong and flexible at the same time?When speaking of the body, flexibility means strength. It%u2019s the old story of the willow and the oak tree. The willow bends to the strong wind, while the oak tree tries to remain immovable. After the storm, the willow, flexible, stands; the oak, inflexible, has fallen.Life is full of change, jolts, and sensations. If we are rigid, if we are not flexible, then these impulses can become intolerable bombardments, overloads to the system.But if we can adapt to these experiences, they become part of the play of life.Adaptability is essential for progress!
