241Why call it Cosmic Consciousness?Remember that pure consciousness is the unified field at the basis of all the laws of nature. Pure consciousness is the fundamental level of everything. Cosmic Consciousness (CC) is experiencing this pure consciousness as one%u2019s own Self even when one is deeply engaged in life or even sound asleep%u2014all the time. This brings the advantage of being aware of the infinite possibilities of life at the same time that we%u2019re engaged in the details of daily life.Regular daily TM practice alternates Transcendental Consciousness (TC, the silent inner Self) with normal daily life. This cultures the brain to maintain inner expanded awareness while at the same time being busy with daily life, experiencing our dreams, or sleeping. Cosmic Consciousness develops automatically as all the stress is healed from the nervous system and the brain becomes increasingly accustomed to maintaining inner wakefulness while being busy in activity.
