283If I decide to do it, how do I go about learning the TM technique?You can learn the Transcendental Meditation technique in seven steps:A. Introductory steps:1. Introduction: If you%u2019ve read our book this far you are already acquainted with the introductory material. Or you can explore TM.org or TM-Women.org online.2. Preparation to learn: Here you learn about the mechanics of the TM technique itself%u2014specific explanations of how the technique works, how it differs from other techniques, where it comes from, how it is taught, and why it is taught in that way.3. Personal intervie Next, you meet with a teacher of the TM program, clear up any questions you may have, and schedule a convenient time for personal instruction.B. Four following days of instruction, about two hours each day. 4. Personal instruction: This is the private session where you learn the TM technique in person from your certified TM teacher, who has been trained and qualified by Maharishi%u2019s organization.5. First day checking: In this seminar session you receive further instruction and answers to your questions about your experiences with TM, while discussing practical details about the TM program.6. Second day checking: Here you learn about the mechanics of the process of the TM technique and the release of stress in the light of your experience with the practice.7. Third day checking: This session explores the goal of the TM program%u2014life free from stress, with the full use of mental and physical potential.After your personal instruction, the remaining sessions may be attended in person with a small group, or virtually via the TM Community app. Virtual sessions include an online meeting with your TM teacher each day. Both course formats give ample opportunity for individual instruction and to ask questions. The virtual format allows much more flexibility in scheduling, to make it easier for you to learn TM.
