How well we perform depends on how rested we are. When we have a good night%u2019s sleep, the activity of the day is effective and almost effortless. When we have a poor night%u2019s sleep, activity can be ineffective and very difficult. When we have no rest at all, activity is all but impossible.So we see that rest is the basis of successful activity. Successful activity leads to fulfillment, and the automatic result of fulfillment is happiness. Thus, basically, our happiness depends upon the quality of our rest. The TM technique provides a unique kind of rest that has been shown to resolve deep-rooted stresses that are not resolved during sleep.Our days are structured in cycles with a period of rest (night%u2019s sleep) and a period of activity (the day and evening).
