276Consider an analogy%u2014we all know how hard it is to get anything done in the dark. We can imagine a group of people who live in the dark, trying to solve that problem. They might form a committee%u2014THE COMMITTEE ON DARKNESS.So you%u2019re saying that just by getting enough people experiencing pure consciousness%u2014that would make things much better for everyone? Is that what you%u2019re saying?Yes it is%u2014but let%u2019s think about it carefully for a moment. Perhaps the world%u2019s problems are the result of lack of creativity, intelligence, and broad awareness. And if this is the situation, then these problems would fade as we all become more creative and intelligent, more connected to the whole rather than lost in the details of life. Look at how humanity has gone about solving problems so far. We examine the problem, think about it, do something. Perhaps what we do is effective, perhaps not. Perhaps in a little while it becomes obvious that the side effects of our %u201csolution%u201d have created a cascade of new problems. Clearly, our world situation indicates that a profound transformation, a whole new way of solving problems, is needed.
