They also scored higher on all three BIS factors.Factor 1: Amplitude of EEG power in the theta2-alpha1 band (6-12 Hz) during activity (the EEG signature of Transcendental Consciousness, present in all areas of the cerebral cortex). The high scores of Long-Term TMers confi rm that the subjective experience of witnessing during activity is based on measurable brain function. For the Short-Term TMers and non-TMers, this EEG of witnessing was not found during activity. Factor 2: Contingent Negative Variation (CNV) %u2014 a global cortical brain preparatory response. High scores on this factor indicate that the brain adjusts appropriately to the demands of a situation. When a known specifi c response is required, the brain mobilizes appropriate perceptual and motor resources to skillfully make that response. If the situation is ambiguous, the high-scoring brain refrains from premature or impulsive action and only moves to respond when it is clear what response is appropriate.Factor 3: Broadband (6-45 Hz) EEG coherence between the left and right sides of the frontal cortex (the executive brain). High scores indicate focused thinking (beta and gamma, 13-45 Hz) united with Transcendental Consciousness (theta2-alpha1, 6-12 Hz), for increased broad comprehension with the ability to focus sharply. This enables the frontal cortex to express refi ned emotions, profound reasoning, and an unshakable sense of Self, anchored in pure consciousness.MIND & BODY WORK TOGETHERReference: Travis, F.
