                                    122So if the body is rested during a night%u2019s sleep, why do we need the TM technique?Although nightly sleep dissolves some fatigue and stress, the degree of rest is not sufficient to remove more deeply-rooted stresses. To remove these stresses, we need the restful alertness of the TM technique. This unique, more profound rest, twice daily, improves health, strengthens the body, and produces greater flexibility, stamina, and resilience.Now let%u2019s go on to the physical benefits of the TM program.The key word in discussing the TM program%u2019s benefits to the body is rest. The body automatically heals and rejuvenates itself when allowed to rest.
